Share The Best In Lakeshore Hospitality With Us!
White Caps provides a nautically themed upscale venue for you to hold a get together
for friends and family, whether a cocktail party, shower, reception, or other event. Whether you gather at the water's edge on Chaumont Bay,
the pavilion by the bog pond, at the vineyard and upper pond or in the winery tasting room with the warm fireplace, cathedral
ceilings & elegant porches, we'll do our best to make you and your guests welcome, comfortable, and feeling special! For larger events,
tents are available through Party Rentals in Watertown, and we can provide a list of approved caterers as well.
Raise a Glass
Looking for an intimate setting to share with a friend? The nautically themed year-round winery, with its pavilion, lakeshore dockage, rescues and walking trails is a superb country place to savor your favorite drink, take a walk on the trails with your family dog, or sit by the bay with a friend.
Currently the winery offers seven wines, as well as craft beer, seltzers, hard ciders, spirits, sodas, and sparkling water. Enjoy a special treat with your favorite bottle of wine, served chilled in an ice bucket, and watch the sunset on the bay! Add a charcuterie board loaded with meats, cheeses, and other delicacies!Bring a Friend
As a working farm, White Caps Winery invites families (Including dogs!) to share the fun on the farm.
Whether you sit by the bay, take a walk with your family and friends, or stop to share an apple with the world's favorite donkey, you're invited to linger and savor all that this winery and lakeside farm have to share!Take a Hike
Love the outdoors with us! Follow our trails, marked on Cedar Grove Farm land, to relax with friends, especially your four legged ones. Trail intersections are marked, and you can visit the upper pond, vineyard, view the rescues, and return via our barn complex, through the long barn alleyway.
Trails are groomed, but bring repellent to ward off ticks; staying on the mown areas will help to avoid hitchhikers. Wine stewards can provide a charcuterie board to go and a bottle of your favorite wine for your mini-hike!Meet a Cow
Clarissa, one of our resuces retired at White Caps, came to Cedar Grove Farm in the fall of 2018. Clarissa, a Jersey Cow, was no longer able to provide milk as part of an organic dairy. This farmer decided to “retire” Clarissa, rather than sell her for meat. She’s a very fortunate cow! Clarissa loves people and is very friendly. She’s a great ambassador at our farm, looking forward to meeting guests from White Caps Winery when they walk the trails.
Clarissa loves apples, carrots and sweet feed as treats. If cows could smile, she would when she sees you! When you speak to her, she knows her name!To see the rest of our rescue family [ Click Here ].
Savor the Bay
Beyond all the joys of the farm, the winery's bay access is the best! Chairs on the dock are a perfect place to hang out with a bottle of wine on ice or a chilled craft beer and savor the day! (The chairs are nailed to the deck, so no matter the wind, you won't wash away!)
Located at the entrance to Sawmill, a small bay off of Chaumont Bay, White Caps' 50 foot dock and two buoys for larger boats welcome you! Here you can access the winery, then visit the new Chaumont village dockage further into the harbor. The bay is home to two yacht clubs and a marina with fuel; several restaurants in town offer the chance to extend your stay.Hang with a Mermaid
If you believe in mermaids, you'll find inspiration here! The nautically themed winery is located on Cedar Grove Farm, which was settled in 1838 by two War of 1812 soldiers who fought at nearby Sackets Harbor. Because one of the Warner boys was a shipbuilder, the affinity for the bays, lakes and rivers has continued for decades, with the full enjoyment of fishing, sailing, swimming and even some camping on nearby Cherry Island a time or two!
Gail, the sixth generation owner of this 178 acre farm, continues the tradition, including farm and lakeshore memorabilia decor, shore dinners, and private tours on a 1953 Lyman Islander during the summer months.Make a Memory
Join us for your next very special formal event. Weddings by the shore, in the pavilion or the barn alley are a treat. We'll connect with your favorite caterer if you would like a reception on our grounds as well.
Tents are also available through Party Rentals for a larger group of guests! Call us to discuss your needs and pricing for your event!Relax by a Fire
The farm winery is a wonderful place to visit throughout the year.
One of the prime attractions in the winter is the roaring fireplace where you can settle in the couches, enjoy the wine, and snuggle in one of our furry throws when you come in from the cold!Watch our website for special events and workshops. Hours vary, but you'll find us ready to welcome you in every season!
